Hello Creatives- #001

Hello Reader!

This is the first official newsletter all about how to start and grow a creative business!

We have kicked off Instagram here!

Today I want to dig a bit deeper into the TIME we invest in our business.

As creatives, we have many ideas and at the same time, we feel we are always behind....not enough hours in the day!

Often we:

> misjudge how long a task takes or

> we wish to tick off all the tasks on the to-do list but by the end of the week we have accomplished just a few and feel deflated

I am here to tell you that every business owner goes through it!

The trick is to manage time and exceptions.

  1. if you are a the beginning of your business remember not to compare yourself with another business that has been around 3,5 or 10 years longer than you!
  2. Be realistic about the hours available to you each week
  3. How many hours do you want to spend on your business? If you have 5 hours and someone else has 15, it makes a huge difference in what you can accomplish. In both cases you can move your business forward, you just have to make sure you schedule the right tasks with the time available.

Pick one goal per week and add 2 extra goals on the list that would be great to tick off but not essential. (eg. 1-Write a Blog post, 2-take pictures of my new product, 3-send an email to X)

Break down the goal into actionable steps and schedule them in your week. (eg. Monday-Write the blog; Tuesday select the pictures for the blog, check grammar and tags; Wednesday publish and promote on social media)

If you complete your goal quicker than anticipated, you already know what to focus on next instead of wasting time scrolling on IG for 'inspiration'. (eg. Thursday take pictures of new products; Friday send email to X)

Make the main task countable. (Will it grow your business, make you money, bring more exposure and visibility or build trust with your audience?)

By having to focus on accomplishing one task at a time you will remove the overwhelm and finally say hello to TIME EFFICIENCY!

Follow these tips and it will be much easier to accomplish your business tasks and feel proud and in control of the progress.

Do you have any questions? Just hit replay and let's chat, I would love to get to know you and your business a little bit more.

Love,

Macrame Heart

Hello Reader, I hope you are doing okay. The past 10 days have been really hard for me as I have watched in horror as innocent children, and people, have been suffering and taken away too early. My wishes and prayers every single day is for peace. I felt hopeless and heartbroken. Then yesterday evening, as I was teaching macrame jewellery for three hours at my local College for Adults, finally my frustration and hopeless were replaced with creativity, human connections, mindfulness, purpose...

Hello Reader, I hope you are well. On Tuesday I was in London to host a mini-retreat with 4 other incredible women. We started with a cacao ceremony, followed by a break nourishing ourselves with plant-based food and finally an 'awaken your creativity' with the art of knotting' session. We created a safe space and within this beautiful container we were able to talk and release many emotions, the tears I shed were much needed and it was magical to be able to share them within the group and...
